Manifestation Guide: using spirituality to attract the life of your dreams

My experience

A huge component of my healing journey has involved manifestation.

Believe it or not, I first learned about manifestation through a book I borrowed from my Maw Maw, and this book was The Secret. This book explains The Law of Attraction, where I discovered that essentially, what we think about is how we perceive our reality.

The other day I found a journal from 2018 and I was surprised to see I had a Manifestation List that included:

  • Becoming a Life Coach

  • Starting a podcast

  • Moving to a new place in my fave neighborhood

  • Falling in love, building a partnership with someone

  • & adding a pup into my life

First of all.. I didn't even realize I'd been thinking about life coaching and podcasting for that long (or maybe even longer) and secondly.... now each of those things are a tangible part of my life experience that I'm so grateful for each day.

Finding that Manifestation list from 2018 couldn't have come at a better time. To be honest, over the last month or so I've been questioning if what I'm doing is resonating with people and if the work I'm putting in is actually paying off. Seeing this list from so long ago was such a great reminder that your dreams take time, they take effort, they take patience, and they take gratitude. When we can pause for a moment and reflect on how far we've come and all the blessing we have, it gives us the juice we need appreciate the present moment and to keep moving forward.

SO! If you're struggling to keep the momentum going on your dreams, or want to refocus your vision altogether, this manifestation guide will be a great resource to get you going on your journey!

So What is Manifestation?

Manifest, verb, : to make evident or certain by showing or displaying

In other words, Manifesting is all about making your dreams and goals obvious (to yourself, and others) by bringing them to life.

I like to think of manifestation of a cuter more spiritual version of CBT, or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is the process of helping people become aware of their thoughts, emotions, and actions. In essence, we have a never-ending feedback loop of thoughts, which inform our emotions, and in turn our emotions inform our actions... only to be followed by more thoughts, emotions, and actions of course!

Angelina Lombardo, the author of Spiritual Entrepreneur, says, “Manifesting is making everything you want to feel and experience a reality...via your thoughts, actions, beliefs, and emotions.”

Manifestation supports us in:

  • creating awareness of our thoughts

  • shifting those thoughts

  • hyper-visualizing what we want

  • building positive emotions around our vision, and feeling pure gratitude (now)

  • and taking action as if we have already manifested what we desire

Having a vision creates a path for the future. It focuses you and allows for clarity moving forward.

So how do I do Manifest?

STEP 1: Get clear on what you want

Do you want to manifest a new job that you're actually passionate about? Or what about an opportunity to move to the city you've always dreamed of? Maybe you're looking to manifest an epic trip to a new place.... or you might even be manifesting the hottest shoes you've ever seen.

Whatever it is, get clear AF about it, I'm talking details honey!! How do you wanna feel when you receive your thing? What does is sound like, smell like, look like?

I encourage getting some time alone, setting a vibe with candles and music, closing your eyes, and daydreaming/visualizing about what you want and incorporating your senses into the vision to make it more real.

STEP 2: Ask the Universe for what your heart desires

For this step, I personally like to create a vision board on Pinterest and looking at it on a regular basis. Other options would be to pray about it, adding items to a future box, or vocalizing your desires when you're having intentional time with yourself. You can also journal about your manifestations as if they've already happened (writing in present or past tense).

STEP 3: Take action steps that support your goals

That's right, manifesting involves taking action, who knew?! Similar to co-creating with a Life Coach, when you're manifesting you're collaborating with the Universe to make your dreams happen.

Let's put it this way, the Universe loves when we have pure excitement and passion towards our dream and the Universe is even more willing to support us when we prove our sincerity and gratitude with action. Break your big goal into smaller baby steps that you can take, and create rituals that tie back to your goal and baby steps. An example of taking action could be as simple as researching pottery classes in town or updating your resumé.

If this is a step you always get stuck on, I'd love to chat and see if I can help you out through Life Coaching sessions together! As a Project Manager at my 9-5, I get SO excited to break a goal down into manageable steps and get creative with overcoming obstacles. Book your free discovery call here ❤️

STEP 4: Express Gratitude for you're life as it currently is

And of course don't forget to appreciate your manifestations as they happen! 2018 is actually when I started writing 10 things I was grateful for each day, and I don't think it's any surprise that my 2018 manifestation list came alive from those initial seeds of gratitude. This includes noticing and appreciating the work that you're putting in, the inspiration you're receiving, and being patient during the rough patches.

STEP 5: Recognize your limiting beliefs and reframe your perspective

What do you really believe about yourself and what your heart desires? Do you catch yourself thinking, "I'll never be in a healthy relationship, everyone cheats", "I'm too shy to start my own business, no one would bother supporting me", "I've been in debt forever, there's no way I can pay that off and start saving I may as well keep using my credit card"

Really get in there and uncover what recurring thoughts are happening, and why? I'll bet you find some bitchy stories that you aren't even aware you're telling yourself.

Once you outline what those key phrases are, it'll be easier to determine how to counteract those beliefs with a newer perspective. For example, instead of feeling hopeless about your debt you could turn it around and see it's an opportunity to organize your finances and setting goals and boundaries around your budget and using your credit card.

STEP 6: Vibe check yourself

Sometimes we're high-vibe with good energy (joy, laugher, peace, non-judgement), and other times we can catch ourselves in a FUNK with low-vibe energy (comparison, judgement, worry, anger, resentment). When we find ourselves in the latter, we tend to dwell and harp on those negative feelings which only stir up more of that same energy - and who wants that?

When that happens, we need to slow down and realize we're focused on the wrong thing. Instead, turn your attention to how do you want to feel? For example, If you're annoyed and want to feel lighthearted... focus on that (intention) and start to take small actions that are in alignment with that. Maybe you crack a joke to yourself to ease the inner-tension (or look at memes/photos/texts with loved ones that always make you laugh), and maybe then you find the capacity to extend that lighthearted energy externally to your co-worker, or friend, or partner.

Tip: You can manage your vibes and energy through journaling, meditation, nature walks, or even helping someone in need.

STEP 7: Have faith in the Universe

Simple as that. Trust that it will all work out in your favor, as it always does. This acts as a shield to unnecessary negativity as well as a portal to creativity, belief, and possibilities!

In times where this step is a challenge, I suggest circling back to Step 3 or Step 4 and put your attention and focus there until you're able to expand your faith.

How will I know if I'm close to manifesting my dreams?

  • Seeing angel #s (especially 111, 222, 555)

  • Experiencing synchronicities (like running into people that are related to what you're manifesting)

  • Signs from the Universe (For example, asking the Universe to show you a rainbow, an owl, or even a sign related to your manifestation..like seeing and hearing about Italy all the time before manifesting a trip there)

  • You experience a challenge (this can be a way for the Universe to see how you'll handle a situation to inspire growth and ability to appreciate your upcoming manifestation)

  • Messages through other people (when someone else affirms what we're trying to manifest - like congratulating your singing at open mic night and saying you've got a special talent!)

  • You may meet someone new and inspiring (they could be someone to help you along your journey)

  • Things in other areas of your life are going well (you're feeling balanced and healthy, you're enjoying time with loved ones, your bank account is thriving... abundance is flowing!)

What should I remember and consider during Manifestation?

You may not manifest exactly what you want, but you'll likely get pretty damn close - and I will be so bold as to say... even if it's not exactly what you want, you'll probably get closer to your dreams WITH manifestation than without. Or at least that’s true from my own personal experience.

The gratitude piece is CRUCIAL. Be grateful and appreciative for what you already have. Take genuine care for what you have now in order to grow. You must prove to yourself (and thus, to the Universe), that you are ready, and you must trust and have complete faith it will all work out for you.

As I mentioned before, a lot of these manifestations that I wrote down 5 years ago are just now becoming a reality so keep that in mind and be prepared to take intentional and consistent action as you practice patience.

Where Attention goes Energy flows; Where Intention goes Energy flows!
